Sam Gosling

Stage Engineering Designer

As an Associate, Sam works in an advisory capacity providing design, guidance and review of Stage Engineering Systems.

As part of his extensive experience, Sam spent 6 years at Charcoalblue in the stage engineering department. He took the stage engineering design lead on numerous award winning projects, notably TheatreSquared - Arkansas and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre - USA. Projects further afield included The Wharf Theatre - Sydney and Waikato Regional Theatre - New Zealand.


He was also heavily involved in many domestic projects, from The Royal Opera House - London, to The Storyhouse - Chester.

Prior to his time at Charcoalblue, Sam graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He then spent time working as a stage carpenter on numerous TV programmes for Channel 4 and 5, as well as scenic installations throughout London.


For over 5 years he has been working as a construction project manager within the super prime residential sector.
